School has started. I have been back to teaching since August 22. We had a family get together over Labor Day. That meant lots of cooking and visiting. A dear friend who is from Mexico and of Spanish descent brought all fixings for making a paella. She even brought her hand wrought copper paella pan. I acted as her sous chef. It was delicious. The wine flowed. We were well mellowed by the end of dinner. Then she and I sat back while everyone else cleaned up.
I am also getting ready for an open studio. I am part of a self-guided tour of the studios of northeastern Wisconsin artists. Hence the invitation above. I'm sure you will recognize some of the paintings. I do my own graphic design. I learned typography from a master. Thank you, Sally Bentley!
If you are in the Green Bay, Wisconsin area come in for a visit. The wine, cheese and fruit will be waiting for you.

You have been busy. I found it interesting to check out the rules and application for this art studio tour. (There are none in my area--looks like lots of planning is required.)
ReplyDeleteYes, lots of planning for individual artists and as a group to organize the thing. I did it for my community as chair of a studio tour committee for our arts commission. The Wisconsin tour is a larger tour than the one I chaired. Publicity is key. Everyone has to be a shameless promoter.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to organize one? Contact your Arts Council or commission for support and then find some sponsors. Remember, organizing artists is like herding cats.
